“ Not just fair-weather friends” Or “ Salman Bhai is Master Vijayan’s lucky charm
July, Mumbai : Salman khan is not only one of Bollywood’s superstars but is also the godfather of many talented professionals in the industry. His fan base in the industry is on a rise and it includes a bevy of beauties with the likes of Sonakshi Sinha, Zarine Khan and many more. The recent add to this bandwagon is his action director from the blockbuster hit Dabaang. At the recent AXN Action Awards where Vijayan returned for the second time in a row to accept the award for the Best Action Sequence he thanked the Khan brothers and remained confident to return for a third time in the coming year with his next action flick Bodyguard. It was not a surprise to know that Bodyguard is also a Salman starrer and is produced by brother in law Atul Agnihotri. The Salman – Vijayan duo is not only making waves in the action genre but they also share a close tie. Salman was recently seen in the music launch of Vijayan’s South Indian directorial debut movie, Markandeyan. Looks like no one can escape the Salman charm. / Looks like even vijayan falls for the S- factor.
“ Perfectly good at being bad” Or “Goodies for the bad boys”
July, Mumbai : At the recent AXN Action Awards where Sonu Sood received an award for the best action hero in a negative role he confessed that it is not always good to be bad. The actor was initially apprehensive about his stereotype bad boy character and wanted to get a few laughs as Chhedi Singh. It was not all smooth sailing for Sood who broke his nose twice during the shooting of the movie. But the coin has two faces, the producer decided to add Munni Badnaam the sizzling item number as an afterthought and the effects were phenomenal. Sonu will soon be seen as Chhedi Singh again in Dabangg 2. So at long last we see Bhaiyaji smile, broadly.
Beyond the sandbox Or Sibling Rivalry Or Brother’s faceoff Or Abhinav’s moment of truth
July, Mumbai : Even though Abhinav Kashyap will not be calling the shots at the Dabaang 2 sets he is still basking in the glory of his debut blockbuster Dabangg. The director recently added a new trophy to his shelf the award for Best Action Director at the AXN Action Awards where he told the host Anusha Dandekar how difficult it is to live in the shadow of elder brother Anurag Kashyap. He humbly calls his Big B his guru, his ex boss and the one man he yearns to please. He acknowledges that a 10/10 from Anurag would be a high for him and that his brohter’s first words after seeing the commercial pot-boiler Dabaang was, “I liked the script you have ruined it.” Abhinav has created history once but has a long way to go. Looks like it runs in the family.
Smitten by Sonakshi Or Another Khan brother goes gaga over SS.
July, Mumbai : Sonakshi Sinha , Sallu Bhai’s yet another protégé and the latest star kid on the block has a self confessed fan in her first producer and Salman’s elder brother Arbaaz Khan. The actor turned producer couldn’t stop himself from praising the beautiful actress at the recent AXN Action Awards where he accepted two awards for Best Action Film and the second on behalf of star brother Salman as Best Action Hero. Arbaaz described Sonakshi’s character as a powerful one and how the actress with her natural charisma and flair for acting took the nation by storm. In the producer’s words, “With that one dialogue of hers( thapad se darr nahi lagta sahebji ..) she became a star overnight.” No doubt Sonakshi has Dabaang -2 in her kitty and with the Khan brother’s at her tow she has nothing to fear. Looks like Ab kissi chees se darr nahi lagta.
“Produced Dabaang as my last film” says Arbaaz Or Arbaaz’s D-day Or Arbaaz Khan’s Judgment day
July, Mumbai : “I didn’t do Dabaang as my first film. I did it as my last film”, these were Arbaaz’s words in a heart to heart with Anusha Dandekar at the recent AXN Action Awards where he accepted two awards for Best Action Film and the second on behalf of star brother Salman as Best Action Hero. For Arbaaz it has been a good year with laurels and critical acclamation pouring in for his debutant venture as producer. It has not been a cake walk for Arbaaz in B-town unlike his younger brother who has often been crowned as the king of Bollywood. At the show Arbaaz spoke openly of his anxiety at failing at the herculean task of producing a Salman starrer. But all is well that ends well. However this is just the beginning for Arbaaz who plans to produce and direct Dabaang -2. He let it slip at the show that the movie is well in process and the first draft of script of the movie is ready. Arbaaz promises an eventful ride to his audience. Let’s hope Arbaaz dabaang-ifies us for the second time.
