Suvarna Plus – The New Kannada General Entertainment Channel

Suvarna Plus Launching On 14th July 2013

After dominating the Kannada Small Screen with Suvarna, Star network has announced the launch of its new Kannada General Entertainment channel “Suvarna Plus”. will go on air from 14th July’2013. This will be a Kannada General Entertainment channel offering genres like Comedy, Non fiction, Movies & Music, It’s content offering will cater to the entire family.

Suvarna was launched in 2007 and has made its loyal base with Women as its core. Today Suvarna is the leader in Week day prime time & offers some of the most watched shows in Kannada like Amrutavarshini, Kannadada Kotyadhipathi (Kannada version of KBC) and many more.The idea behind Suvarna Plus is to create content which acts as a stress buster, the content offering will be Movies, Comedy fiction shows, Reality shows, Chat shows, Film based shows & Music. The channel will also offer content targeting youth with shows like Campus Connect.

“Masthi Swalpa Jaasthi” is the tagline of Suvarna Plus, this tagline captures a basic tendency of humans to get ‘A BIT MORE’ in everything and it promises the viewer of ‘something extra’ in terms of entertainment. Although both Suvarna & Suvarna plus will operate in the same market & catering to the same viewer base they are positioned differently & have different gratifications: Suvarna’s key offering is Fiction shows where it has positioned itself as a companion to the viewers. Star Suvarna Plus will act as a stress buster and will be a complete entertainer.
